James PORTER born 1832 Shropshire
« on: Thursday 03 October 13 11:10 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the birth of James Porter son of Benjamin Porter, believed to have been born in 1832  Shropshire, according to his death certificate. James was a brick maker.
He died 6 December, 1909 in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia. James was married at age 28 to Anne Caffrey age 26 from Ireland in Albury, New South Wales, Australia, in May 1861.
I have his marriage certificate and details of all of his children's births in Wagga Wagga, His first child was Helen born 1862, his first son was named Benjamin.
I cannot find his wife's death or record of  a second marriage to, Elizabeth Porter his wife at the time of his death. Any help appreciated. Thanks

On his death certificate his eldest daughter says he was in Victoria and South Australia for 8 years and then Wagga Wagga are for 44  years.
I did find a James Porter arriving in Victoria on board ship Mooltan in August 1853 which fitted information.
Thank you for your efforts, Gidget
