Researching my great grand aunt mollie mary cotterill nee dowling of thomastown co kilkenny.she left kilkenny after marrying a british soldier serving in kilkenny barracks around 1912 .hus name was earnest william cotterill.last known address was in 1935 in north london england.any help appreciated

1901 census of Ballylough St ,Kilkenny shows E W Cotterill age 19 born England a labourer ,church of England before joining the army his army number is either 72718 or 12718 page 21 of the barrack return form is torn right at the start of his number and he is a driver in 1901, a search of the 1911 census for all Ireland gives no returns for him or Mary, so probably left Ireland before the 1911 census.
They married in 1905

volume 3 page 377 match for both.
 There are umpteen Mary Dowling's in Kilkenny on the 1901 census so a search without the parents names is a no no but you will get her fathers name from the marriage cert and address assuming she was living with them at time of marriage.

1911 census will list people in institutions under intials rather than full name- there are several possibilites under 'E.C.' in Ireland in 1911 census-
