6 missing sisters' marriages!
« on: Monday 14 October 13 11:54 BST (UK) »
Can anyone please help with marriages for 6 of my IKIN (Eykin, Eakin etc)sisters, all baptised in Whitchurch, daughters of George & Elizabeth? They are:

Margaret (baptised 1776)
Hannah (1781 - I know she was stll called Ikin when she was a witness at her sister Sarah's marriage in 1802.)
Eleanor/Ellen (1786)
Martha (1788)
Mary (1792)
Catherine (1795).

Any help would be great.

Jill

Hi

Do you have any proof that the other 5 all survived infancy?

No, I don't, Carole.

All I have, apart from Hannah's presence at her sister Sarah's wedding in 1802 is a 1784 Removal Order naming their parents George and Elizabeth and children Margaret (7), Sarah (5), John (3) and Hannah(2). They were being moved from Whitchurch to Prees but the childrens' baptisms seem to vary from Whitchurch to Prees and back again. (Sorry, I'm back with the Ikins after a long break so mistakenly said they were all baptised in Whitchurch).

Thanks Carole. I had seen that Buildwas marriage on FS but its quite a way from Whitchurch so, as you rightly say, guess work.

Yes, glencare, there are 12 children in total. I have marriages for Sarah (who is my direct line) and the two oldest: Ann and Elizabeth. The others are : George (1775), Margaret, John (1780), Hannah, Eleanor, Martha,Mary and Catherine, and are a complete blank! Jane died in the same year as her baptism.
