Tywyn Cemetry/Burials in 1925
« on: Tuesday 15 October 13 17:13 BST (UK) »
My G/grandfather died in Tywyn in 1925 (Walter Davies) I am trying to track where he may be buried. I am aware that there is a 'modern' cemetery in Tywyn, but was unable to find him there.
Any ideas???

Thanks

Hi
Free BMD and North Wales BMD do not include wife's name. NW BMD gives sub-registration district as Pennal.

Although there is a Rev. Walter Davies buried at the parish church of St Cadfan  in the old part of the town, he was buried in 1863. Most burials in the town in 1925 would be at the non -denominational cemetery on the Bryncrug Road. The Registration Dept at Dolgellau can help & will put you in touch with a sub-dept in Penrhryndeudraeth who keep the grave plots records. I had a quick look through the Cambrian News for an Obit in 4thQ 1925 yesterday but nothing obvious.
Have you got any extra information?
