Update from pm exchange info

Margaret died 1869 aged 87 but on the 1861 census she is shown as 73.  Variation in birthyear of about 5-6yrs (1782-1788)

FS entries for 2 of her children show one b 1824 and the other 1833 - both Kincardine

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/X1DB-Y4D

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/X1D1-GX7

If she was born as early as 1782 - she would have been 51 when son John was born in 1833 so I think that birthyear can be discounted

I have checked FS for her marriage and that of her parents and also Margaret's baptism - nothing

I have advised Morgan to use SP and search the OPR's unless anybody else can come up with anything

I am posting census details so we have all available info

This is the 1841 for  Abernethy and Kincardine - somebody called Charles has notified an error in the surname from Richie to Ritchie

Donald Richie  70 b Inverness - weaver
Margaret Richie  50 - born out of county
John Richie  9 b Inverness
Christy Berry 20 servant - born out of county
Abernethy and Kincardine ED 2 Page 2 Line 1260

1851 for Abernethy and Kincardine

Margaret Ritchie 60 b Kirkmichael Banffshire
Ann Grant 2 niece b Abernethy
Abernethy and Kincardine ED 2 Page 4 Line 20

1861 - this may help to explain age discrepancies as John was actually 28 in 1861

Margaret Ritchie 73 b Kirkmichael Banffshire
John 21 son b Abernethy
Abernethy and Kincardine ED 9 Page 3 Line 23

I have just checked the free index on SP and there are 2 matches for a birth/baptism for a Margaret Grant in Banff - Parent name Peter - between 1793 & 1795

However - there is no match if you use Kirkmichael or parent name Janet

There are 6 matches for a marriage between a Peter Grant & a Janet between 1785-1795 but no match if you use Janet Martin and a spouse Peter.  No matches in Banff
