From his death notice Archibald was married to Elizabeth (deceased).  No I can't see a marriage either in NSW

I see from ryerson's that an Elizabeth Isabella Grassick died in 1969.  I will hunt down that death notice.

I'm glad, Ros, that you found John's death in 1919 - I couldn't find him anywhere but then I wasn't looking far enough back    Alison took on quite a challenge moving from her to Australia with the two children.

It appears from Elizabeth's death notice that she was previously married to a Lowe and it is possibly the marriage to Ernest E Lowe in 1925 to Elizabeth I Wardope in Balmain North. 

An Ernest Edward Lowe died in 1956 and yes I have just checked his death notice and wife was Elizabeth Isabel and the children correspond to those on Elizabeth Grassick's death notice.

So it was probably a late romance and wedding for Archibald and Elizabeth - after the 1962 cut-off date.

I'm having lots of internet problems or I would confirm that birth parents of Elizabeth Wardrope matched parents of death of Elizabeth Grassick . 

aha it's come good again briefly ...

Elizabeth Wardrope was born in 1907 in Balmain south with parents John and Ruby

Elizabeth Grassick died in 1969 with parents John Ann and Elizabeth Isabella

Aaargh Well now I wish I'd left it to you to check    Perhaps it was an Elizabeth Wardrope who was born elsewhere than NSW

In 1943 and 1949, Elizabeth was in the same district as Archibald.

She and husband Ernest Edward LOWE were at Kooloora Av. Harbord.
He was an ambulance officer and she HD's

They were there also in 1949.

It is interesting that the death found by ROS was registered at Cooma

There are not E Roll listings showing the couple around this time.

   the guts of Elizabeth's death notice ...

GRASSICK Elizabeth Isabella May 3 1969 at Cooma District Hospital, of 22 Playfair Road North Curl Curl, dearly loved wife of Archibald, loved mother of R, S,N,E,F,Y,L,M and B and fond grandmother of their children.  Aged 61 years.

The males have surname Lowe.

Perhaps she was visiting one of her children when she became ill.

Allison Kinnear Poustie born 8 March 1884, 7 High street, Elie, Fife, Scotland.
                                  died 27 September 1965, Manly, N.S.W. Australia.
                                  marr. 21 January 1906, 32 Easter road, Leith, Midlothian,                             
                                  to John Grassick. I do have  more information for him.

About Poustie, Allison Kinnear
At marriage she was a Domestic servant age 21 residing at 8 Napier Road, Edinburgh. Minister was James Park, witnesses William Poustie, Elizabeth Poustie and Nellie Thomson.
