"Noid" and "Strom"?

Are these hamlets or villages in Sutherland?
It is given in a 1797 marriage in Kingussie and Insh.

12 Jan 1797 wedding after banns for James Macpherson and Catherine Macpherson.  She is from 'Strom'.

Can you perhaps post an image of the entry itself, in case you've misread the handwriting? There are certainly no places in Sutherland with names that sound like, or look like, these ones. There's a Stromness in Orkney, but that's never been part of Sutherland

My sincere apologies for this lateness of reply.

I recently returned to this area of my searching and surfed a bit differently - found that "NOID" is actually 'NUID', a place in Inverness-shire.  "STROM' is actually 'STRONE'.  !!!
Have read items mentioning these two locations.  So that is sorted.
