« on: Saturday 26 October 13 06:02 BST (UK) »
Just wondering if any one has a photograph of Tranby Rise Nursing Home Heads Lane Hessle or from where I could obtain one. I believe it was used as a nursing home through most of the 1950s & 1960s... It has great meaning towards our family tree were just starting to put together.. Any assistance will be much appreciated... thank you sincerely Edward  ;D

Edward - we lived on Tranby Ave. Hessle from 1968-88, and often walked along Heads Lane, but can't remember seeing the nursing home then, though I've heard of it.
Our children all went to Hessle High school on Heads Lane.
Have you tried Google Maps to see if you can spot it?
Otherwise try sending an email to
Adam "at" myhessle.com
Which is a special website for Hessle. I believe they have some photos of old Hessle.
Knott - Northumberland; Yorkshire (?Bridlington.)
Fenwick, Johnston - Northumberland.
Dixon; Hutchinson - York.
Shaw - ? Glasgow

Hi,
I don’t have a photo of Tranby Rise but I do know where it was.
The property was on the parcel of land which is now Peaseholme and the house stables and outbuildings were roughly where Woodhill Rise is now.
I have a map but the photo is too large to send.
