We are looking for information regarding Thomas William Welsh, who came to Australia, but not at the same time as other members of his family. His wife, Isabella Allan Welsh, came to Australia in 1927 with her 14 year old son, John Moore. She gave an address in Ayr, Scotland, her age as 57 and recorded her occupation as 'Grocer.' Robert Allan Welsh (roughly 24 years of age at the time) came to Australia in 1929 from Ayr. There were many, much older children, probably settled in Ayr. At least two other children came to Australia, May Montgomery Welsh, who married Albert Melrose Treloar in Narandara, NSW, in 1936. Another child, Elizabeth Montgomery Welsh, also came to Australia. We can find no record of Thomas William/May or Elizabeth Welsh arriving in Australia. It is possible Thomas was in Military service, as the second oldest child, William Bruce Welsh, was born in Peshawar in India in 1895. William Bruce came to Australia in 1913, served in the 1914-18 war, and died here in 1959. Could anyone help us find Thomas William Welsh. The family can be found in 1901, living in Midlothian. Before marriage Isabella (nee Rollo/Rolley b. Dreghorn 1870) worked as a domestic servant in the home of Henry James Montgomery at Chestnus Square, Wellesbourne, Warwickshire. She can be found on the 1891 census. Isabella Allan Rolley Welsh died in Lalor in 1954 as is buried in Geelong East cemetery.
