Kinnegar Road, Holywood, early 1920s
« on: Tuesday 05 November 13 20:24 GMT (UK) »
Hi - my father's family lived on Kinnegar Road, Holywood sometime from 1920 until about 1926.  Does anyone have a street directory with this street for this timeframe?

My grandfather was John Crabbe but would be interested in the others on the street as well.  I would also appreciate a pointer to pictures of this place / era.   Thanks in advance!

The nearest I can offer online is the 1918 Provincial town directory for Holywood, County Down:

http://www.lennonwylie.co.uk/PT19187.htm#Holywood

"Kinnegar Road" isn't mentioned, but there are many "Kinnegar" references, inc.references to areas in the immediate vicinity, such as "Prospect Terrace" which you can 'google streetview'.

No John Crabbe in 1918 though.  :(

Maybe Kinnegar Road developed in the 1920s?

Thanks Gaffy!  My grandparents hadn't moved there yet BUT I did find the previous inhabitant.  The house was called Villa Nova (forgot that until I saw it on the list) and Thos. Ball was living there in 1918.  I will see where that info might take me :)

Hi there,
I was born on Kinnegar Road in 1957 - HOWEVER it was called Milton Street at that time.  It was renamed in the early 1960s, so try searching under that street name.
