East Bergholt 19C family photos discovery
« on: Sunday 10 November 13 11:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I'm posting on behalf of another less experienced researcher, who posted on another board . Having recently bought an antique photo album she discovered that there are some 30 or so late 19th Century portrait photos still in the book. She'd very much like to give the photos to the rightful family. The researcher hasn't shared any of the photos online yet so most of the figures are so far unidentified, but apparently there are three named rememberance cards. We've found that these are all from the area of East Bergholt, Suffolk, so are probably related to each other:

Marianne Martin died March 15 1870. (we think this is probably Mary Ann Martin, aged 62 when she died in 1870)

Mary Ann Dale (Nee GLADDEN), wife of Robert Dale died April 20th 1891, in East Bergholt, Suffolk.

Edith Harriet Jackson died January 6 1895, aged 5. Daughter of William Jackson and Susannah Miles.

I've encouraged the researcher to join Rootschat and to post the photos online, but it seems she may be somewhat less experienced and hasn't yet shared the photos.

Hello,

I have just started looking back into my family history and found this post.

I believe the picture of the 5 year old girl to be a relation of mine :)
My grandad Ernest William Jackson, was born in 1912 to Ernest James and Emily Jackson. Ernest James was born around 1890 and his parents are William and Susannah Jackson. All were born and lived in East Bergholt, Suffolk.

Based on this information, I strongly believe that Edith Harriet Jackson was Ernest's sister.

I'm not sure about the other people though (I haven't got that far as I have only just started this)

Do you happen to still have the photos? Unfortunately, my grandad is no longer with us but my Dad would be very interested.

Thank you in advance

Hi - I'm the brother of the Dad previously referred to, and wanted to arrange for the photo to be sent to us !. Unfortunately this site doesn't send email addresses so your message did not have it attached. They refer to "personal messages" so will have to find out how these work!

First you need to make 2 posts - that's a little security thing to deter spammers ;D

The the PM system becomes open to you.

On a post, on the left, underneath the user name & avatar you will see a document icon (green if they are online; else white).
Click on that, and the PM message box opens.

OR, click on the user name, and then on "Send PM".

Oh! Welcome to RootsChat! ;D
