Oh WOWOWO
Bless you 'Bunnygirl'  I will find the details and send off to see if they are correct.  OH my..
they must be right, because Sarah was so devoted to her Son Ernest born May 1889.  That when he was killed in Ypres, she died within 1 Month.

I cannot thank you enough.  Fingers crossed then x

Cross eyed searching 1881 - for any kind of link, found a site with 1881 Hinckley Workhouse - doesnt look like they are there .......  So 1881 still searching... am now going to look for any possible Walter George's of the right age in the 1881... you never know.

Have found registration details of Arthur John his birth date would be c 1881 if he died age 1.9mnths in 1883... so found a possible to send away for there.

Walter George would have been born c. 1877.... so found a poss reg.there.

Ernest I presume is my Ernest and I have his details -

so some movement being made.

Thank you all so very much........   :)

Think I may have found two of them?!?!
ages not quite right but close.

Living with a possible Aunt and Uncle...... in Hinckley,
I checked for a marriage of Elizabeth Clarke (Thomas Clarke snr's sister) and she possibly married Job Iliffe ( so need to send for that cert to clarify).

then found a George age 9 and an Elizabeth aged 11 living with them in the 1881   RG11/3132... !? so
all possibles and maybes but its a start.
The children I am considering these two could be are:
Sarah Elizabeth born 1867
and Walter George born 1877.

Before sending for Iliffe Jobs marriage to check if Elizabeth is Thomas's sister.   I checked the 1891 census and found them in Hinckley with NO family.  So that looked OK... But then decided just to see what was on the 1871 knowing that I have Sarah Elizabeth with her parents on that one.

I found them, with no family --- so thought ok............ BUT they are living next door to a George Clarke and family?!?!?!?!? he is 38 and married with 2 children Prudence 7 and Lauretta 2.......
So now will have to look for those in 1881 to clarify if I am going around in circles with this one.

xin

So re-checked the 1881 and found that on the previous page to the one showing Job with Elizabeth and George is a George Clarke with same family as in 1871 so OK..... My young George is not the son of George and co.  (I think) That means he could be Walter George son of Thomas and Sarah, its time to send off for some certs.

crazy

BUNNYGIRL Your Barwell PR was correct with Arthur John, bless you -  :D
that is one of them found.
Havent recieved the cert for Walter yet?! as I asked for it to be checked.

So happy that with all the help on here I am finally getting somewhere.

However - the children I had hoped were mine in 1881 are NOT Elizabeth Clarke and Job Illife are not my direct line, so the children they have with them in 1881 are not mine.

That means I still have to find them all in 1881......  Probably will have to accept they were being hidden, by Sarah Elizabeth (the eldest child) as Thomas and Sarah were working away, leaving her in charge....  She did become the 'Matriarch' of the family in later years so that is possible.

Just the two births to find then.  whew..... fantastic.
