**FINDING A CONSERVATOR IN YOUR AREA**
« on: Saturday 18 June 05 07:01 BST (UK) »
Anyone who has old and fragile documents and photographs knows how precious and unique they are. To keep these heirlooms for future generations it is vital that they are conserved stored in a proper manner.

The Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Materials website is http://www.aiccm.org.au/ - on the front page is a link at the top for "Conservators".  Scroll down and you will find a link to a listing of conservators in private practice.

The UK Institute for Conservation has a website specifically for locating conservators: http://www.conservationregister.com/

The American Institute of Conservation has a link to "Find a Conservator" at http://www.conservation-us.org/

The Canadian Association of Professional Conservators allows you to search at:
http://capc-acrp.ca/select_conservator.asp
Cleary, Doran, Boland, McCooey, McManus, O'brien, Martin, Savage, Wallis, McCollister, Wood.  (More to come soon)

For countries not covered by the above links it might be worthwhile contacting a local museum for information on specialists in the area.
