Have you had a look around the Magherafelt area for Sarah Mckeown?

There is a reference in a birth record in Nov 1866 for a Sarah being a witness.

I'll see what else I can dig up.

Now I have some loose ends I am trying to tie up. There was a daughter by the name of Margaret McKeown Baptized 31 Jul 1864 at St. Mary's RC Church in Tamlaght Rasharkin, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. I had originally found that record through an LDS microfilm of the original church record I saw in 1992. However, I am unable to find any further information on Margaret. Her 3 sisters all emigrated to Boston by the turn of the century, but not Margaret as far as I can tell, so I suspect she may have married, or possibly died, in Rasharkin. I would like to find some record of her beyond her birth
Margaret McKeown, spinster, died Tamlaght in 1892-

Yes they are from Rasharkin. They married around 1825 and James was born there around 1807 . My gran was a McGuigan. I cannot find anything for his brother Hyndman apart from a reference in an evaluation roll.
Any info would be appreciated.

Hi,
Hyndman McGuikan's  brothers were Patrick 1825 and Bernard 1827 and sister Mary 1823, Rasharkin..
Tickmacreven 1860 Griffith's evaluation roll Munie North shows Hyndman living there. Parents were James McGuigakan and Agnes Brannan married 1825 Rasharkin.

Hope this helps me find the right family.

Griffith's Valuation doesn't show relationships and Rasharkin Parish records (R.C.) only go back to 1848 from what I can find. So, how do you know Hyndman was a brother?

I can't see a death for Hyndman anywhere in Ireland in the civil index (1864-onwards) and the first Valuation Revision Book after Griffith's (1862-1864, Griffith's printed 1861) has him crossed out with date of 1865 (sometimes it took a while before changes were noted).

If you had mentioned that Hyndman went to Scotland and you 'have Scottish details already' already I wouldn't have wasted time searching for him in Ireland and then posting the Scottish details  :-\

Unfortunately the Rasharkin parish records only start 1848. Looking at neighbouring parishes-
Kilrea & Portglenone both start 1846 and nothing else in the area early enough to find baptism for Hyndman and siblings.
