James Anthony of Bathgate Family Research
« on: Monday 02 December 13 14:08 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I look for information on the family ANTHONY DE BATHGATE.

Certain James ANTHONY been born August 24th, 1884 came to fight(dispute) in France during the war 1914-1918.
He was the son of William ANTHONY and Agnès COYLE
He(It) had a son in France in 1916 with Zoé VERGEOT
He married Zoé VERGEOT on January 10th, 1917 to Galametz in France.
Then he(it) died in the fight in France on April 01st, 1918
It would seem that he(it) also has other brothers of persons killed in the fights

It was the grandfather of one friend for whom I try to find information

Could you help me has to find information on the couple William ANTHONY and Agnès COYLE?
Their dates and wedding, born places, the list of their children...

Thank you in advance.

Cordially.

Jean-Michel THERET

Hi J Michel Theret,

Welcome to RootsChat, wish you success with your research.

I have split the post you added to an existing thread as it is not the same family, or at least some 80 years after the family talked about in that post. The splitting of the post should not affect you, in fact it may channel facts about your case better.

Agnes's birth on link below  - as it's an 1855 birth, a certificate from Scotland's People would give a lot of information about her parents

Bonjour,

Grace à l'aide qui m'a été apportée par ce site, j'ai pu découvrir que James ANTHONY avait eu des frères et soeurs:

|___ANTHONY Maggie    ° ../../1877 Bathgate   +  1891/....
|___ANTHONY William    ° ../../1879 Bathgate   +  1901/....
|___ANTHONY John    ° ../../1881 Bathgate   +  1901/....
|___ANTHONY Lizzie (Elisabeth)   ° ../../1883 Bathgate   +  1901/....
|___ANTHONY James    ° 24/08/1884 Bathgate   + 01/04/1918
|___   x 10/01/1917 Galametz (62)
|___x VERGEOT Zoé Marie Marguerite   ° 29/05/1890 Cavron Saint Martin (62)   + 10/11/1967
Montreuil (62)
|___|___ANTHONY ?
|___ANTHONY Robert    ° ../../1888 Bathgate   +  1901/....
|___ANTHONY Jessie   ° ../../1890 Bathgate   +  1901/....
|___ANTHONY Thomas    ° ../../1897 Bathgate   +  1901/....

ANTHONY A H PTE RGA 1914-1918
ANTHONY J SGT RS 1914-1918
ANTHONY J PTE QOH 1914-1918  (probablement James)
ANTHONY W PTE A & SH 1914-1918

Y a-t-il possibilité de connaitre qui sont ces personnes indiquées sur le mémorial.

Je vous remercie sincèrement par avance.

Jean Michel Théret (Pas- de-Calais France)
