Thomas Brees and Elizabeth Brees Pennal
« on: Monday 09 December 13 19:28 GMT (UK) »
Looking for place of burial for Thomas (born 1821) and Elizabeth (born c1825 died 9.8.1894 Abergafan Isa Pennal although this could be near Pantperthog. I have checked church registers for Pennal, Machynlleth, Llanwrin, Corris and Talyllyn to no avail. Evidence suggest that her parents and their son David are buried Llanwrin. Has anyone access to records for the other cemetery in Corris or any other  Nonconformist cemeteries in this area.
Thomas was alive in 1881

There is no Breese buried in Rehoboth Calvinist chapel in Corris. Because Abergarfan is more or less on the bridge that joins Pennal with Machynlleth it may be worth checking with Montgomeryshire family historians for Machynlleth burials; I have Griffiths family members in the neighbouring Abergarfan Uchaf most of whom seem to have crossed the bridge for burial.

Although Elisabeth Brees may not be on FreeBMD there is a death for Elizabeth Breese in 1894 in Pennal on North Wales BMD

1891 has surname as Breeze - Elizabeth is a widow

1871 and 1881 as Brees

No death for Thomas  under Brees - only Breese

Thomas was 61 in 1881 and the only death matching his birthyear was in 1884 Dolgelly aged 64.  The 1881 has them in the Machynlleth RD in 1881 so it would seem mor logical for his death to be registered there

There are 2 in that RD - 1888 aged 80 and 1890 aged 74

They are both in the upper section of old Rehoboth cemetery (the one you can see across the valley from "the Monument" on the A487.
Thomas Brees, Abergarfan Isaf died 10th May 1881 aged 66
Elizabeth Brees, died 9 August 1894 aged 68.
