John Morgan Christening/Baptism Beguildy
« on: Friday 13 December 13 11:27 GMT (UK) »
Hello. Does anyone have access to records for Beguildy?
I am looking for the Christening of John Morgan in (I believe) 1836. Can anyone find a record of him? Father was Richard Morgan/s, Mother was Elizabeth. Many Thanks for any help. Jan.

Welcome to Roots Chat :)

There is a John Morgan Bapt 5 April 1835 in  Beguildy  but the parents are George and Elizabeth

George is listed as a labourer from Fennant or Pennant

Thank you Kay for looking. Perhaps my John wasn't Christened, or was Christened else where. In the census he says he was born in Beguildy, but I suppose he may not have been Christened there.
Many Thanks again for looking . Best Wishes Jan.

What is the earliest Census you have for him?

In 1851 there is a John Morgan born c 1839, Saintsharmow, Radnorshire, Wales (St Harmon)
Parents Richard/Elizabeth.
Was his Father a Farmer according to his M/C?

trish :)

Thank you so much for your replies.
John's Parents were Richard and Martha (I think) . I muddled his Mother and his Wife . He was married to Elizabeth !! Sorry! He married Elizabeth Bowen in 1864.  He had eleven children.
I think John was the youngest son with siblings -Elizabeth, Thomas, Mary and Richard. Also his Father Richard seemed to have 2 wives, an Elizabeth and a Martha, neither of whom I can discover much about including a marriage. In 1841 the family are in Prisk, Llanfihangel, Beguildy. In 1851 they are at Yerchan weeg and 1861 Penygraig Mochdre. There does seem to be a swap between Martha and Elizabeth on a couple of census'.  Thank you again for your help and interest. Jan
