With a slight leap of faith you could almost imagine, if someone was transcribing from a poorly written "Drumherrif", how the "h" could become a "k" and the "if" a "y".

I was lucky to visit Ireland last year and worked with a local historian from Castleblayne.  My family (Courtney) are noted in the 1861 Grifith's Evaluation as living in Drumherriff N as well as 1821 Evaluation as living in Drumkerry.  This historian gave me copies of old maps showing 1861 Drumherriff N and 1824 Drumkerry and where my family farmed.   Apparently Drumkerry was changed to Drumherriff sometime in between 1824-1861.
I was exceedingly fortunate to be taken to the actual spot our family lived in what is also known as Broomfield.
Hope this helps.
