Manchester photographs go online
« on: Saturday 28 December 13 18:52 GMT (UK) »
Hello, for anyone interested in photographs  of old Manchester.
Quote from today`s Manchester Evening News;-
Since the closure of the county archive in  Marshall  St., ahead of the move to the new look Central  Library ,some of the best items in the archive which capture the city over the centuries have been assembled. These can be viewed online at :-archivesplus.org
This is a preview of what can be seen at the new archive centre next spring.

I had not looked myself when I posted the message ,but now I have done I agree, does not do what it says on the label!
Well the Central Library will be open in the Spring and perhaps things will be better.

Sorry folks if I have misled you but I thought it sounded very interesting to Mancunians especially.

Hi all

Think the M.E.N is a bit behind the time. The website has been live for a wee while.  I believe it is still rather a work in progress.

Archives + have loads of stuff on their flckr account here:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/manchesterarchiveplus/

I know they have been busy scanning all sorts of photos/documents/books etc. and also uploading photos of what the Archives + team have been up to.  Have a look at the photosets for specific topics of interest.

All the best
CD
