Fake Weddings?

I have various photos of 2 couples weddings. May and Charlie, and Hilda and Ethelbert.  May and Hilda were sisters. 

But, are there real photos? Are they not all wearing the same clothes?  One wedding was supposed to be in 1926, the other in 1929.

Salzer (Germany/Walworth (1900)), Posnett (London), Edwards (London/Surrey), Stout (Whitechapel), Proud (London/Chester)

It would not be unusual for the family to keep the wedding dresses for the bride and bridesmaids.

Is it possible that the date is wrong for one of the weddings and this was a double wedding, so the peeps on the front row (and the best man - middle of the back row) swapped around for the photos?

This is the exact same group, wearing the exact same clothing and posed in the exact same positions. The camera has moved a couple of inches over to the left for the second photo.

The casual-looking guy at the left of the photo hasn't even moved. He is leaning on something. To recreate this exact scene 3 years later would take some planning that not even film studios seem to be capable of :P

Even the brides' bouquet seems to be the same, although it has lost two flowers in the second shot, lower left quadrant.

There's something else going on here...a mystery!

Sure you have the right couples? Not a double wedding?

I'd say the two photos were taken on the same day.

Look at the man on the left in the bottom photo. He's in virtually the same place on the other photo. He's standing on a plank of wood in the top photo and you can see it in exactly the same position in the bottom one.

The curtains in the window behind them are in exactly the same position in both photos.

The bridesmaid on the left is not only wearing the same dress but holding exactly the same flower and wearing the same headdress at exactly the same angle!

Yes...the groom and the best man (or whatever) have changed places for the second pic, but the groom in the second is not the guy from the first pic...different neckwear.

Hard to see if the little girl is wearing the same dress in both photos...but in 3 years she'd have outgrown it. Doesn't prove a thing, I know :)
