Hello Shane

Those are all familiar names.  Emma Pratt and Montague Lewin are my husband's great grandparents and Lancelot is his grandfather.  I am particularly interested to see a birthdate for Emma Pratt as I had not been able to trace a birth registration for her.

Her birth would have to be April 20th April 1855 as she passed away 1938 aged 83.
Her autograph is April 20th. :)

There is a chapter about William Pratt in the book "Ballantynes - The Story of Dunstable House 1854-2004" by Gordon Ogilvie   Very interesting.

Thanks for that I will try to get hold of a copy of the book.

I do suspect that William had a more modest start in England than is suggested by much that has been written about him.
