Hi Everyone
Well after much reading can anyone confirm that what appears to be Non Conformist Records for Jarratt Street formerly North Street, Hull is NOT a Methodist Chapel but a Roman Catholic Chapel ??
I have found baptism's under 0828156 (RG4 3686) from 1820-34 and states
HULL CHAPEL IN JARRETT STREET FORMERLY IN NORTH ST SCULCOATES LIC, SCULCOATES, YORK, ENGLAND the details given for this GS Film No: Births, baptisms and marriages, 1798-1840 Author: Catholic Church. Jarrett Street (Sculcoates, England)
Details on familysearch RG4-8:

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/ERY/Hull/HullHistory/HullHistory9.htmlTHE ROMAN CATHOLICS... Hadley (who wrote in 1778) informs us that the Catholics afterwards worshipped "in a room on the north side of Holy Trinity church, ....
1790... 20th March, ...laid the foundation stones of a small chapel and house in North Street,
...1826 they purchased a piece of ground in Jarratt Street,
St. Charles' Church is in Jarratt Street ....
If the RC worshipped within Holy Trinity, did they marry there too as Catholics and if so did they marry as late as 1820 at Holy Trinity ??

Primitive Methodism in Hull
.... In
1851 the
Clowes Chapel in Jarratt Street, another Sissons design, was opened. It was a huge and expensive building, seating 1,400 and costing £7,410.
This Methodist Chapel above is far too late after the baptism's I have found, so from this I can deduce that Hull Chapel is Roman Catholic, although there was a Methodist Chapel at North St c1819 later West St.
And lastly, would Methodist records have been written in Latin, the reason I ask this is because some baptism's are written with Latin names, but the marriage of 1820 of the parents is written in English at Holy Trinity, Bishop's Transcripts
