Yes, I'm becoming more convinced now.  I couldn't find a baptism for Benjamin, I'll go back and look again.  I thought Fir Man may well be Fireman, glad that's cleared up!

So still to find Sarah and Benjamin in 1851, will report back with progress, thanks again!

The baptism that I've quoted is from Durham Records Online  :)

If you find them, do let us know as I've had a good search using various names, etc.  They could have been missed off as visitors. some people get recorded twice, others get missed  :-\

I had one query in the Durham section and this one in Flintshire, I didn't know how to link the two!

I am now getting more convinced re the Manchester connection.  I checked on Sarah's parents and I believe they were living in Manchester in 1841 and 51, so it would make sense.  Also I read a note on Findmypast which states that only 82% of the Manchester census returns still exist for 1851, owing to water damage, so it could be that Sarah and Benjamin were in the 18% lost.

I'm not sure whether I should put a "completed" on these two posts, as I have found the maiden name, or leave them open to see if any further info is forthcoming?
