Healy Family 1901-1911
« on: Friday 10 January 14 22:12 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I am hoping that some one may be able to help me, I am trying to find information on my great grandparents, I know that they were in Cork in 1900 when they had a daughter, but there is no sign of the family on the 1901 census.
At the time of the 1901 census the family consisted of;
John Healy   Head,  Margaret Healy  Wife and their children were;  Anne who was born in 1896, James who was born in 1898, and Ellen who was born in 1900.
I can also find no record of the family on the 1911 census by which time the family had grown and the additional children were;
Mary born 1902 (Mary married in 1921), Margaret born 1904, John born 1907 and Kathleen born 1909. All the children were born in Cork City
If anyone can assist me in this mystery I would be grateful

Do you have exact places of birth for all the children? might help to find where they are in 1901 and 1911

hi aghadowey
 all the children were born in Cork City I know that 6 of them were Baptised at St Finbarrs Church and Mary (my grandmother) was Baptised at St Peter and Paul's Church.
I also know that in 1896 when Anne was born they were living at 35 Evergreen Buildings, and in 1909 when Kathleen was born they were living at 18 James Square

Hello,

It is very strange, isn't it. What was John's occupation and Margaret's maiden name?
Where were they in 1902 when Mary was born?
Heywood

Hello Heywood,

Going by the information that I have from 1895 when he married to 1914 when his eldest daughter Anne married his occupation is down as a labourer, but later dates have him down as a stoker.
Margarets maiden name was Sheehan.
John's father was James Healy who was deceased when John married Margaret, Margaret's father was Peter Sheehan who was also deceased at the time of her marriage

I had checked earlier using minimal details (just first names & ages, etc.) and then browse through DED, etc. but still no likely sightings  :(

Could understand part of one census with them being part of missing bits not microfilmed but seems strange not to find them on both  :-\

I had also searched using Caitlín etc with no joy.
I wonder if they just objected to the census  :-\
