I even found an online tree that had my father married to hos own mother!! :o

And, during my time on RC, I have debunked a few "carefully drawn" pedigrees - usually from USA?! ::)

Don't trust anything unless you can verify it!

A lot of pedigrees are incorrect but others are simply incomplete. Although there is a baptism for Jane, she doesn't appear in the pedigrees by T C Griffith or J E Griffith. Neither is she on this link - http://datingoldwelshhouses.co.uk/library/HHistory-old/HHCAE%20GLAS.pdf

It could mean that she died at an early age, although I can't find a record.

Her mother might have been living at Parc after John took over the estate. However, John is not mentioned in his father's will and so it may have passed to him during his father's lifetime.

I published sent some data to a person on Family Search. She has published it as hers, totally unauthorised. I found it contained an error; her problem, and it also saves me following false trails.

I just can't see or haven't found yet the proof that Jane uch Evan is the Jane EVANS noted in the pedigrees etc as being the correct burial for the wife of Evan Isaac Caeglas, when it clearly states that she was of Park! ..as noted for Edward Jones's burial  in the PR, clearly stated as being of Park..

Edward Jones and Jane resided at BRAICH , which I believe is on the Park estate...so I am still following this lead that the burial may be for this Jane...until proven otherwise of course..

The same problem arose for my family of BODURDA, Ellin the daughter of Rowland Morgans omitted from the pedigrees, but she was a lot easier to prove!

Remember it is very seldom we are able to prove something beyond a reasonable doubt; all too often the "Balance of probability"is beyond us too.

Hello Roger :)

Long time no see. I'm amazed that you are connected to the Merionethshire/North Wales pedigrees. You've not mentioned it before  :)

Which line are you connected to ?  I'll get down my Griffiths and see if I can help you.

I think aled is concerned with these:

So far as I am aware Judy, I have no links to Wales apart from a man from Somerset who went to South Wales to work in the coal industry. My interest in this thread is general, and the misleading information put on a variety of pedigrees. I am now in the same line of work that you entered a few years back, problem here is a bunch of the idiots think the Rules don't apply here. They will learn otherwise!

It took me a lot of research to link back to the Welsh pedigrees. I was then helped by a distant cousin who helped with the old links. I could have gone back to Adam but stopped when it got daft  :)

However, the Welsh Pedigrees are a specialised part of Welsh genealogy and they should be treated with care by those who know little/nothing about them. Maybe those who know nothing about them should not comment.
