DNA Test a word of caution
« on: Sunday 12 January 14 17:13 GMT (UK) »
Three years back i had a Y chromosome DNA test with a prominent US company. I received a 36/37 marker result immediately, and have periodically had updates. I am also a member of a surname test in which other members with my surname have made links. On thursday of this week i received an update stating that I had a 37/37 marker match with another person my ID code and everything, but when I checked deeper I found that a mistake had been made by the company and they had sent me the update for another person, who fortunately I am in contact. Though we share a surname our DNA profiles are very different. The mistake must be all down to this company. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
