A search of the RootsIreland births/baptisms index for father Charles Hughes and mother Mary Clements brings back index entries for Francis Andrew 1882, Patrick 1883, Catherine Elizabeth 1884, Malachy John 1885, Mary Ann 1887, and Charles Frederick 1888, to see the actual record content is pay per view.

Charles Hughes died when his children were young- "The Will of Charles Hughes late of Armagh Saddler and Publican who died 22 April 1891 at same place was proved at Armagh by Mary Hughes of Armagh Widow and Arthur Clements of Drumnacanver Farmer both in said County the Executors." You can read the Will, which mentions wife Mary & her father Arthur Clements (Hughes children not mentioned by name)-
http://applications.proni.gov.uk/DCAL_PRONI_WillsCalendar/WillsSearch.aspx

Charles was aged 55 when he died according to his death registration-
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FTCS-HJH

Mary Hughes was alive in 1899 when her father died- Will mentions her son Charles Hughes- "Probate of the Will of Arthur Clements late of Drumnscanver County Armagh Farmer who died 8 August 1899 granted at Armagh to Mary Hughes Widow."

Hi all,

Thanks for all your kind help.  Can anyone find the birth of Mary Hughes in 1888 to Charles Hughes and Mary Clements?

This looks like the family in the 1901 census

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Armagh/Crossmore/Drumacanver/1013318/

Could this be the family in the 1911 census

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Armagh/Crossmore/Drumacanver/321769/

Thanks for all your help

Kieran

Hi Aghadowey,

Thanks for your reply.  Yes I did see if earlier but it didn't click as all the other information I have for her she was just called Mary.  However, since I have now found them in the census it all makes sense.

Thanks for all your help

Kieran

Based on the DOB given with the married name "Armour" I assume this is the Catherine being reffered to?
