Hi,  dont know if you are still looking for information on these farms but if you do my dad has worked at Lochbrow for over 50 years and is still there today and previous to that he started work at Kerse when he left school.  Lochbrow is not part of Annandale Estates as previously mentioned , its now Crown Estate property.  Happy to share any info you might need.

Hi, the 1915 and 1920 valuation rolls available on the Scotland's people site may provide some more recent info than the 1911 census - it will show proprietor/tenant/occupier/inhabitant occupier. The 1896-97 valuation roll showed both Lochbrow and Kerse as being owned by John James Hope Johnstone at that time (i.e. Annandale); tenants were Barr and McGregor respectively.

Another useful resource in this type of situation is the 1881 Scottish census placename index on Origins.net, which can be searched on part of a name thus dealing in part at least with spelling variations.

For example, Lochbrow could be searched using "Lochb" or "hbrow".
