William Cave and family - Chetnole - Yetminster early 1820s
« on: Saturday 18 January 14 20:39 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to track down Rebecca Woods born 1780 in London. She married William Cave 1815 in Islington. I believe they moved to Dorset where they had at least 4 children:-

Mary Cave 1818
John Woods Cave 1820
Edward Cave 1821
Samuel Silas Cave 1824

All christened in Yetminster. William is described as a shopkeeper from Chetnole.

Any help with census entries - to prove William and Rebecca moved to Dorset, other family members and possible death date for Rebecca greatly appreciated.

Hi

If you don't have them on a census - where did you get her birthyear/birthplace from?

From the info given she would have been 35 when she married William and marriage entry shows she was a spinster

Hi
Dorset opc has burials in yetminster and there is this .....
Rebecca Cane buried 8/7/1830 age 49 of Chetnole.
I wonder if wrongly transcribed?

From the 12 page 8,000 odd word long will of her Father that mentions her married name and the name of her husband and the christening records from FamilySearch.

Hi

Was her father John Woods the witness at her marriage. If so ties in with the baptism in 1780 St Dunstan in the west.
