1841 census lookup - William BURDEN
« on: Friday 24 January 14 03:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Could someone lookup William BURDEN born about 1783/4 in the 1841 census, he was married to Mary Ann born about 1780, and they should have a son Edmund born about 1811 in Greenwich.

Any help would be appreciated

Regards
Paul

BURIAL;
William BURDEN, 05 August 1827, St Alphage, Greenwich, kent
Age 59
(c 1768)
Abode Church St
(Source FreeREG)

I noticed Church St was the Address of WILLIAM/MARY ANN when they Christened their Son George William Burden, 08 March 1814 same Church.

+ this likely Burial;
Mary Ann BURDEN, 17 Dec 1838, same Church, age 65, (c 1773) abode Wood Wharf, died 07 Dec.

Trish :)

Hi Trish,

Thank you for that information, it explains why it's been so difficult to get anywhere with this family.

I haven't been able to find their son Edmund James George Burden's marriage to Susan Sarah (last name unknown), they had a son James George Burden (b 1836) who's my 3rd Great Grandfather.

Paul

I had a look at a couple of Trees and disagree with them..
Trees have Susan Sarah, Wife of Edmund dying 1845 Kent
I can see no evidence Edmund J G had a Wife who was Susan Sarah.

JAMES GEORGE Burdens Mother was a SUSANNA from his Christening Record.

The SUSAN SARAH Burden who was Buried 26 Oct 1845, St Alphage, Greenwich was age 1 (birth c 1844)
(FreeREG)

She was Baptised 30 Oct 1844 same Church to  EDMUND JAMES and CAROLINE
Other Children were;
EDMUND JAMES, 24 Dec 1841
MARY ANN 09 Dec 1846

Edmund James Georges' Death Reg is March 1851 so he would not appear on the 1851 Census.
Caroline may have remarried June 1845
Possible Spouses EAGER/DONALDSON/WRIGHT/GROVES
(FreeBMD)

Back soon.

Hi Trish,

Following the information you've provided I thought it best to re-check the facts I know.

James George BURDEN was born in 1836 St. Alphage, Greenwich, as the details of when he 1st went to see confirm that, and his marriage details (Lowestoft, Suffolk) confirm his father is James BURDEN, occupation brewer. James George Burden died in 1886 in Lowestoft, Suffolk.

So from the information you've found, I'm looking for James BURDEN & Susanna, based on his christening record.

Regards
Paul
