Charles Boe in 1891
« on: Friday 24 January 14 12:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Can anybody help in locating this person in 1891?

Charles Boe: born in Newcastle/Byker/Gateshead area circa 1883.

He give his father's name as John Boe on his military records and marriage certificate.

John Boe was born in Gateshead in 1856, being baptised in Newcastle on the 5th October of that year, and can be traced on every census through to 1911, although Charles does not appear with him. John married an Ann Liddell in Newcastle in 1879, so she could be Charles' mother, but as I can't find a record of his birth either, I can't verify that. John remarried around 1896, so Ann must have died prior to this.

I know that this is the correct John Boe, as he had a brother, James, born on the 8th May 1866 in Gateshead, and Charles appears with him (as a 'nephew), on the 1911 census.
Charles appears on the 1901 census as a soldier with the Northumberland Fusiliers, but who was he with in 1891??

Can anybody trace him, or solve the mystery?

Thanks

Sue

Hi

Take a look at this site, it could answer your query about the 1891 census.

Hi

But Charles would have been only a child, perhaps 7 years of age, in 1891.
