Robert Rayner of Docking area dob 1731
« on: Monday 27 January 14 20:31 GMT (UK) »
hi
help needed please! Does anyone have any information about a Robert Rayner born 1731? He married Charlotte Durnford at Snettisham in July 1755 and they went on to have at least 10 children. I can find nothing about him other than he was on the voting poll of 1768 for the Chase Smithdon Hundred. I would appreciate any suggestions or clues to who he was or where he came from. Charlotte was from a well connected family so was this a big love story or was he also from a 'good' family?

Norfolk Record Office
Indenture, lease and release. Ref NRS 9176,22A3, Robert Rayner and Charlotte his wife. Mansion House with barber shop and blacksmith shop.
There are several leases of the same property, by Robert Rayner this is the only one that mentions his wife Charlotte.
Wills at NRO
Robert Rayner 1721 yeoman of Docking Ref: NCC will register Archer 23
Robert Rayner 1718-1721 yeoman of Docking (inventory)Ref: DN/INV 74A/216
Nicholas Rayner of Docking NCC Admin Bonds Ref: DN/INV75B/29, NCC Admin Bonds 1723 #200 (my notes this is probably to do with the estate of above named Robert.
This is probably the grandfather however wills often give a great deal of family relationships and who they bought and sold property from.

hi
Thank you. That's interesting! I think I need a holiday in Norfolk to pursue this further!
