Can I jump in again.  What Medase says is true, and it's a big step to take.

One possible work around there.....  As I recall, when I set up Firefox as my browser it asked permission to transfer all my page settings, bookmarks etc.

You could try setting up Firefox, let it take your page settings, THEN delete Chrome.  That's still going to have the same affect as what Medase suggests.

But then, you can download Chrome again, and transfer your settings back to the new refreshed Chrome, then delete Firefox (unless you want to keep it - if you have the space, there is no issue with having two (or 3 if you include IE) browsers stored in your computer.  You just tell the computer which one you want as default.

Do you think that's a viable solution Medase?

Just found out that this is a bug after Chrome updated itself. They are working on a fix apparently. You might like to try Firefox.

A good idea from daval57

Thanks for the news Midase - my options now are to either wait and see re Chrome fixing the problem, or to go with Dave's suggestions re Firefox.

Thank you again, and an equally huge thanks and appreciation to Dave  :)

Bless you both,

There's only three paragraphs of your first response!

I was referring to this part of the comment in my first response..... :)

I also had a quick Google - it seems there was / is an issue with Chrome (which I've never used).
Have you tried another Browser?  If nothing else, that will tell you if it's a setting on your computer or a setting on your browser you need to change.

:)

Just hoping Mrs T gets it sorted.
So frustrating when something that should be simple to correct takes quite a lot of effort to resolve.
