"The other one was in the Yorkshire Regiment and I have emailed the regimental museum for information and I'm waiting for a reply".

I think this was the one I mentioned earlier Edwin S Noble East Yorkshire Regiment number 12/750

I did a further check and found he was Edwin Staveley Noble, born 1895, married 1923, died 1983.

The other one I found E S Noble L Strath's H, Imperial Army number 2625, there is a note on the maedal card which states his medals were updated in 1934, so I guess he survived.

Thanks Colin, looks like they're not him either.

Just done a search on the British Newspaper Archive for a mention of Johnshaven between 1914 & 1923, despite lots of the war dead being mentioned I can't see any mention of our man. There's a couple where the name does not come up in a search, so still possible.
