Archer family in Edinburgh
« on: Saturday 01 February 14 20:54 GMT (UK) »
Recent digging into my grandmother's family indicates that two of her male siblings, both surnamed Archer, were married men likely to have children. As the marriages were in 1930, the children could well be alive, so if you are, or are descended from, an Archer from either Leith or Haymarket, I would be delighted to receive a communication from you.

Given the rules of the site, I cannot say much more.

Whoever chose to remove the names from this post might care to note:

1. I am FULLY aware that you cannot provide details of living persons

2. All of the four first names provided were those of persons who died over 25 years ago, save one who died in 1990; if I knew the people I mentioned were alive I wouldn't be posting here would I?

There were two Archer marriages in 1930 in Edinburgh.   Francis died 1976 (68) and his wife Isabella Smail in 1938 (26) - 1 Hay Place Craigmillar. Interesting result when you" Google " search Francis Archer death 1976 and a birth 1935.

The other married a Wilhelmina Robertson who died in 1957  (50).

A couple of indicators that may help others a little.

Many thanks, sir. One of those pieces of information unlocked a little piece of the mystery, and told me something else I had not known about that side of the family. Armed with this I can dig further.
