Henry Joseph Masters
« on: Sunday 02 February 14 22:42 GMT (UK) »
I have been trying to find where my great x2 grandad was buried but so far I have no luck.Henry Joseph Masters died in Hackney on the 14th June 1886.He's not on any web-site that has burials,I've tried contacting different parts of London but that lead to going round in circles. He was born in Kent and his first child died as a baby in Maidstone so I thought he could be there but I can't find any sites with Maidstone burials.please can someone help me,after 3 years I've run out of ideas. His daughter is also a mystery,Catherine Sarah Bunch, nee Masters,my great gran, died in Ashford,Kent in 1947,she could have been cremated,I don't know but I can't find any trace of her final resting place either.
       Thanks for any help

Hi sandyjose

Hackney council has a list of cemeteries in their area here

http://www.hackney.gov.uk/ce-burial-and-grave-details-335.htm#.Uu7KlbTp_jM

It is most probably  a case of looking at a map to see which one is closest to where he was last living and died, contact that one and if no joy move out in larger circles and onto the next one.

For cemetery records asre going online but it is a slow process.
