Stephen Lewes and to my son in law Mr Adam Walker forty shillings apiece to be by oath of them bestowed on a ring with my Coat of Armes  for the seale theron engraved to wear as pledges of my love for them .

is  this correct, Richard  Birkened had a coat of arms ??

Looking at the published crests, as distinct from the full coats of arms, at least two Cheshire lines of Birkenheads have crests, one of them from Backford.  These crests would have been on top of the helmet in the full coat of arms.

Thanks, my Richard Birkened was born in Manley ( stated in his will)  , and baptised at Frodsham .
