I have a death cert for my great grendfather but cannot find out where he was buried. The death says Larne but could have been buried in Belfast. Any help please?

Why do you suspect Belfast is a possibility? What religion was he? where did he live previously? Date of death?

Its a long story!! My grandmother was born in Larne 1885. There were 9 children between 1877-1895. She was Mary Hester Hamilton Gough ( unusual names) and her father was William (George) Gough, mother was Margaret (nee Davies). I searched for death records around that time and the only one that came up was 1895 in Larne. I sent for the cert and it said spouse was Margaret Gough. ( but it could be coincidence). However I thought if I can get the actual burial record it may be one of the children that registered the death and that will prove it is him. I wrote to Larne Council and they came back with no record. The Belfast theory is that in 1901 the family was in Belfast, at least the mother and some of the children were. By the way they were all Church of Ireland or Presbyterian. Hope you can help. Thanks Tess

What's the exact date of death for the William Gough certificate that you did send for?

Checked Belfast City burials (City, Dundonald & Roselawn)- nothing. Also no obituary in Belfast Newsletter.

First, suggest you click on 'report to moderator' and ask this thread to be moved to correct board (Antrim).

You can use this site to find some graveyards in the area of Larne-

Thanks, Is Ballymacashon, Killenchy near Larne? its just on her death cert in 1929 it says formerly of and I wondered as she was in Belfast in 1901 could they have lived at Killenchy but he died in Larne? I am probably well off beam!!

Thanks for the church list, I guess I will have to write to them all unless there's a better way??

Regards
Tess
