Eliza Tyrrell is missing from Cork St.
« on: Tuesday 11 February 14 07:49 GMT (UK) »
Eliza/Elizabeth is my great grand aunt and if it wasn't for a struck out entry in the 1901 Census, I probably wouldn't know she existed.

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003714004/

The family resided at 12.5 Cork St and are accounted for on that census.  Eliza has been crossed off and from the position she is recorded on the original, I would guess that she was 17-18 years of age.

Three possibilities spring to mind.
1) she died before the census but her father recorded her anyway.
2) she married and is recorded with her new husband, whomever he is.
3) she was away working or in hospital.

I have done various searches but come up with nothing on the 1901 census using her full name, initials and spelling variations. She doesn't appear as Eliza Tyrrell in 1911 either.

There were some marriages / deaths in the right time frame, however, I have not found a way to narrow them down.

Any suggestions or other options I haven't considered would be appreciated.
Researching: Cronin / Nolan - Gortadrislig, Kerry
Finn/Clifford - Callinafercy and Scort, Kerry
Spillane - Milltown
Also:- Byrne / Tyrrell - Dublin

If her mother is still alive in 1911 does she record how many children she had.

edit I see two marriages 1882 and 1883 St Marys Pro Cathedral for children of
Edward Tyrell and Ellen Keely .any connection.

In the 1911 census, Peter and Eliza have a nine year old grandchild Kathleen Tyrrell with them.

This child is unlikely to be the daughter of their son Patrick, as he is living closeby with his wife and two children and also states he's  only had two children.

Is it possible Kathleen was the daughter of missing Eliza who was 'away' pregnant at the time of the 1901 census?

Cheers

First thing I looked at http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Merchant_s_Quay/Cork_St_/57131/

6 children 6 living, so Eliza is out there somewhere.
