Just found this in the IGI, member submissions. They've changed the layout again and I missed it.

Interesting because I remember Auntie Catherine talking about Beddgelert. And not just because of the tragic dog story.

If they lived at Fynhadog Uchaf near Roman Bridge it would fit, as several other family members lived around there. Including Auntie Catherine. Also, it would seem many people from the area worked the Llechwedd slate quarry at Blaenau Ffestiniog, about 2 miles away. And I have a group photo of miners taken at Llechwedd.
