Cemeteries in and around St Mullins,co Carlow
« on: Thursday 20 February 14 13:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi,I am wondering if anyone would know the cemeteries which would be used for people, residing in and the townlands surrounding, St Mullins besides the main St Mullins parish cemetery? I am looking for my relation Tobias Byrne(died around 1846) and his wives Catherine Carroll(died about 1795)and Anastasia(Nancy) Byrne (died ? after Tobias). They resided in townlands of Inch(Cath C) and Mullannavode(Nancy B).Tobias' marriages to both ladies were found in Borris parish registers but I do not know if it means anything. Anything at all concerning cemeteries or even these people would be so appreciated.Kim

Hi, thanks so much for the reply. You wouldn't know offhand if Carlow Library would possibly have cemetery records? Its just that with these deaths being old,I wonder if they have records as some cemeteries may no longer exist. Kim

Hi,thank you both so much for the help with the cemeteries. I didn't find the people I'm looking for in the links but I am beginning to wonder if it may be an idea to check Kilkenny and Wexford as well as esp. with co Wexford there is a section of St Mullins just over the border. Thanks again! Kim

Both wives were from Borris area. Try looking there also
Married women who died young were often buried with their own parent/grandparents.
Not all burials are named on headstones.

Good luck with the search
