Having been given that Moses Davies was The father of Clement Davies MP.would it please be possible to locate  Moses Davies aged about 3yrs born LLANFYLLIN in the  in the 1861 census and the names of his parents and siblings in the same household.  Regards EIRWEN

Hi,

There's a Moses Davies living in Llanfyllin but shown as born in Llandysilio. :-\

Parents are Thomas and Elizabeth; siblings are Evan (also born 1858) and Mary Jane (born 1856).

Moses is with Mum,Mary. Dad, David & siblings,living Llanfyllin.

On the 1861 David is a Corn Factor & Malster.Living Llanfyllin & all born there

According to eirwen Moses was 3 years old on 1861 census and so born about 1858.

Llanfyllin  was the RD for Llandysilio so maybe Eirwen has taken the birth info from the GRO index.

There is a baptism in Llandysilio for the above Moses Davies in 1858. Full info will be on FindMyPast but can't give it here because of T & C.

Have you got the right age? The Moses Davies I can see in Llanfyllin, with son Clement E b 1884 (as per the MP) was born c1844. He is an auctioneer- which also matches the biogs of the MP. Only difference is his wife being listed as Laura Elizabeth rather than Elizabeth Margaret
