wemyss family of Fodderty
« on: Wednesday 12 March 14 08:22 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone had any information on James Wemyss (1777/1781) married to Alice Bethune and living at the heights of Brae, Fodderty, Ross-shire. I have gone back this far and am now stuck. I cant find any records for either of them except the 1841 census. I think they had four children  .Isabella, Duncan, Donald and james.
Many Thanks

Hi Maree

I am also researching his family. Their oldest child Duncan is the line I am interested in.
Please contact me and we can exchange information.

Would like to follow this thread as I have some Weyms/Weimiss in Northumberland and am trying to figure out where they may have originated.
