I realize I have not said gtx_3 emigrated with second wife and 7 children. First wife died(unconfirned) he had 4 other children.. am getting confused with previous posts as to what info I have given today, sorry. But b basically this is just a search for the vessel. Just given a bit more so this  search makes sense.

Shipwreck - The Christopher was driven ashore Poole Dorset 22 October 1820 - "The Marine List". Lloyd's List (5538). 24 October 1820.

There are very few passenger lists that have survived from the period 1820 - 1830
There are no UK incoming passenger lists for that period - the recorded UK Incoming passenger lists started 1878.  You might find references to ships arriving in newspapers but that's probably the best you will find.

Thanks Sandra. Interesting links. At least the Christopher wasn't damaged and maybe lived to sail another day.

Lloyd's List 13/Oct/1820, says that "The CHRISTOPHER, Row, from Newcastle bound St Johns Newfoundland, struck on sands North Yarmouth (suggest Yarmouth Isle of Wight) and put into Poole on the 10th October in a  such a leaky condition that she could not continue with her voyage"

Oh sorry I must have got wrong vessel. Thought it said she broke from moorings but not damaged. Should have gone to Specsavers, lol ;D
