Family of Michael Hoy/Jane Shannon of Longford county, Ireland
« on: Saturday 22 March 14 03:37 GMT (UK) »
Researching family of Michael Hoy/Jane (Jeanne) Shannon of Longford County, Clongesh or Mohill Parish.  They had 6 children: John b.1833, Hugh b 1835, Thomas b 1843, Annie b ?, and 2 sons, names unknown, who lost their lives while serving in the British Army.  Have baptismal record showing son John baptized in Newtownforbes, so assume family lived in the vicinity.  Griffith's valuation shows Michael Hoy leasing land in Clongesh and/or Mohill parishes.  Living children immigrated to U.S.  I would appreciate any info on Michael and Jane and their family, and ancestors, if available.

Hi Marjo

I've also stumbled on this family, wondering if Elizabeth was an aunt of mine, duaghter of Hugh Shannon & Ann McHugh.

Michael was one of the above-unnamed sons, baptised on 20 Dec 1844.

How can we best get in contact?

Paul
