This site says that it does a free trial and it has The Freeman's Journal on it which has a lot of bits and bobs re Peter Largan.

I've just seen an article where Peter Largan is listed as one of the Repeal Wardens and there is also a Patrick Largan Repeal Warden - given the rarity of the surname they are possibly brothers ?!

Sorry about this but I've no real knowledge of how the Repeal Association worked but I shall type up what I can surmise.

Peter Largan seems to have been in The Sawyers Association in the late 1830's.

There is a 1839 mention of a Peter Largan being 'put forward' as being eligible for the committee.

There is an 1842 mention of him being an admitted member of the Repeal Association.

He was then a Repeal Warden for The Local Repeal Association in the 1840's - there are numerous mentions of him and the sums collected.

The main address associated to him appears to be 16 Lombard Street and in his later years 1860 - 1863 there are a few mentions of Townsend Street.

Hope that makes sense.

If I was a gambling woman I'd put the lot on him being born in 1803 and being 60 when dying in 1863 !

Have since found that Sylvester Dunne a Pawnbroker's Clerk died at 99 Gt Britain St in 1878 informant his widow Eliza Dunne same address.

by 1881 the family seemed to have moved to 1 Fairview ? as Peter Langan's widow Mary Keegan/Langan age 68 born circa 1813 died there Sep 1881 with her daughter Eliza Dunn as informant
