Ashley - don't know whether you are still looking for the Wimbow/Wimboles in Hawkesbury but Gloucestershire parish records have just gone online with Ancestry.  If you don't have a subscription, I do and would be happy to look anything up for you. 

They have the following, although apparently there is some doubt as to whether all parishes are covered:
Gloucestershire baptisms 1813-1913
Gloucestershire confirmations 1834-1913
Gloucestershire marriages 1754-1938
Gloucestershire burials 1813-1988
Baptisms marriages and burials 1538-1813

I found a couple of previously unknown children for one family, and another previously unknown child in the next generation of that family - sadly she died at the age of 4. And no joy for the mysterious Eliza Mathews who married in a particular Gloucestershire parish - looks like there was a lazy parish clerk there who couldn't be bothered to write down fathers names!

Do you know if the site covers Prestbury baptisms in the 1600's?

It would appear so, in the Gloucestershire baptisms marriages and burials 1538-1813 - Prestbury is listed.

Many thanks for that. It looks as if I shall have to re-join Ancestry! I let my subscription lapse about a year ago when I considered that I had exhausted their resources.
