Sarah Ellen Cahill born Williams Many times put up on the board
« on: Saturday 29 March 14 08:09 GMT (UK) »
I will try anything.

Sarah Ellen Cahill has disappeared from sight. She was born Sarah Ellen Williams, daughter of William Williams and Ellen Eaton Fox in 1870. She married James Thomas Cahill in 1887. A baby, Ellen (Helen) was born in 1898. All in Liverpool & surrounds.
The family cannot be found in the 1891 census.

Sarah Ellen disappears in the 1890's.
James Cahill comes back into the census as Cohill in 1901 married to Margaret. That's another story.
For which I have the answers.

My requests:
* where were the Cahill family in the 1891 census, and
* what caused the disappearance of Sarah Ellen in the 1890's

I am hoping:
* new eyes are looking
* old eyes have new information

The above has been published on this site previously. Epsom & Ascot Streets in Liverpool are important.
I don't want to waste people's time. Is there anything new ??

Regards
Alan

Hi, I like a challenge ;D

Had a quick look round on the net and read some of your other posts. I don't mind having a look at things, can't promise anything but you never know.

First....what do you know about Sarah Ellen's brother Benjamin? Did he marry a Elizabeth McBride? and do you know the names of ALL his children?

I appreciate your help.

1901 census Benjamin at Leta Street as Bann Williams living with John Currie & Sarah Currie who were relatives of his mother.

1911 census Benjamin married to Elizabeth with children Owen, Mary & Francis. If there were more, I do not have the information.

Also, if this helps, James Thomas Cahill's brother was, I believe Richard. In the 1901 census he was married to Mary at 21 Ascot Street Liverpool with children Thomas, Rosanna, Sarah Mary C and Margaret. The Ascot St connection lives on !!

Again I thank you for your interest. This search has been going on for years. A new pair of eyes is most welcome!!

Hi,
From the census I have the children you mentioned plus Josephine. I think I may have found two more children but because of their birth dates there is a chance , although slim, of them still being alive. I will send a PM.

Hi!
I sent you a PM. I hope you got it. I only ask this because I have only basic computer skills and often things go awry.
I am not sure how ordering any of the possible certificates might help me to find Sarah Ellen, in that, even if the family relationship was proven, the facts of the disappearance would probably have been obscured by the passage of time.
Door knocking is out of the question. I live in Australia.
I am open to suggestions.

Thanks sgf28,

I reckon I put that there. In the words of the song, "I've Been Everywhere !"

And I aim to keep searching for Sarah Ellen Cahill (Williams) until I find her.

Looks like you started that thread back in September 2010 and it was still going six months later :)
Hopefully if anyone else from here goes to read through what's there they may be able to find another line to follow ::)
