If we assume the Sarah married to Edward Hagan, who gave birth to Norah and Julia Rose also gave birth to the last one mentioned , Margaret in 1936, then she would have been 56 years old. I think the probabilities of this is minimal :-\

So to confirm we are now not looking for a marriage between Patrick Hagan and Sarah Costello but between Edward Hagan and Sarah Costello now?

I think it's safe to assume that Edward was in the Navy?
Or else why was the first child born in Portsmouth? ;D

Births: December qtr 1910
Portsmouth district    vol 2b, page 345
Hagan, Norah

September qtr 1908
Newcastle Upon Tyne district    vol 10b, page 121
Hagan, Rose

I think it's probably best to buy one of the birth certificates of Kathleen or Edward.
Then you'll know for certain who the father is!! ;D

I've been doing some research on Patrick Hagan/Sarah Costello myself, it appears they're my great, great grandparents. I know this forum has been quiet for quite some time, but, I was wondering if anyone actually found anything further?

For your Scottish/Irish link, my Costello's came from Co. Mayo to Newcastle, lots of kids, so probably everyone with a Costello in this thread is connected in some way.
Northumberland: Young, Parker, Wolens, Keenlyside, Taylor, Costello
Scotland: Dempster, Henderson, Jackson, M(a)cMillan, M(a)cLanders
Ireland (Co.Mayo): Monaghan, Costello

+ all variations of above names.
