Thankyou it is a very sad event, a sign of the times and punished for being mentally ill, thank goodness we have moved forward with that.

Although I don't think she is 'mine' having researched some more there are Laura Grooms (no relation) in Beccles, Groom seems to be a fairly common name in Norfolk/Suffolk.

Mabel sent me the The Ipswich Journal 24 Feb 1900 and 10 March 1900 so this new one I will add in Laura's notes along with those, although as I say I don't think it is my Laura, so my Laura is still missing in action

I have her birth reg, baptism date/place, 1881, 1891 and 1901 and........ maybe a death reg in 1931, right age, still Groom surname so if it is her unmarried in the Blofield registration district, can't find her in 1911 anywhere

Have you tried looking for with just her initials L G, there are two listed on the 1911 census index.
She could be in an institution :-\

As far as I can see, Laura is the only one of that name in that area. Unfortunately, though I can't see her after 1901  :-\
